How Can swelling And Redness In The Finger Be Treated?

Hello I have had an infected finger for over a week. I had antibiotics by IV and orally for a week. Still my arm is in a lot of pain. My finger is still swollen and red. I have a swelling just above my wrist and it stings so bad. How long does it take to recover from blood poisoning. or a spider bite. We really don t know why my infections started. We thought that maybe it was from a little cat bite to my finger. What can I do to fix the problem?

If you have infected finger (or wrist), I do not see any reason for taking IV antibiotics. Because IV antibiotics are usually administered most often in hospitalised and seriously ill patients. It would have been better if details of the exact drug/s being administered. Because it is difficult to comprehend a simple finger infection needing such a treatment. Please let me know is there pus or any infected wound? Are there any culture tests done. Unless more appropriate details are known, difficult give any specific answer. Thanks
