How Can ADHD And Anxiety Disorder Be Treated?

i have a 9 yr old with multiple diagnosis, ADHD, ODD, DMDD and PDD, as well as an anxiety disorder and irregular hearbeat, Lithium is being recommended without use of other medications first, I am afraid after researching to approve the use of this medication. Is it safe for someone his age ?

In the USA the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves lithium for use in children twelve years of age and older.

Common side effects of lithium:
-headache
-nausea
-abdominal pain
-dizziness
-insomnia

You may wish to ask the doctor who is prescribing the lithium why he/she selected this drug.
