69 year old male, insertional Achilles tendonitis caused by bone spur, all the palliatives (eccentric exercise etc.) helped but as the spur progresses pain eventually returns, increases. Surgery recommended, avoiding only because periods of inactivity greatly exacerbate my Parkinson s. The long recovery could leave me with better foot but worse overall health. I m considering the surgery now only because of the foot pain’s impact on my exercise. I see internet descriptions of supposedly newer techniques promising greatly reduced time to normal activity, things like minimally-invasive spur removal, ultrasound guidance, etc. all the way to stem cell injections. Hard to tell which if any are legit or snake oil. I m in the Dallas area. Any suggestions as to cliicians/clinics greatly appreciated. Thanks!
