Hello, I have Bell s Palsy residuals from an attack 15 years ago.... my eye closes when I smile, and my smile is only partial on one side. I have have botox injections from both my opth. and neurologist with some success... currently have poor insurance, but am willing to pay for a successful outcome.... any ideas, or known doctors in the area that treat this condition? My zip is 60540 - Naperville... Thanks!
bell's palsy is treated with steroids and acyclovir in acute cases. however, since your case is chronic, you need to go for physiotherapy. that has quite a good chances for you. also get NERVE CONDUCTION STUDIES done for your facial nerve. also you should be started on amitryptilline but only after proper clinical evaluation.
i hope this helps you. please feel free to revert back in case of any doubts/concerns thank you.
