How Can COPD Be Treated?

I have COPD, but right now my symptoms are fairly mild. I m not even being treated for it. I recently read a few testimonials of people who have taken probiotics and seemingly have no more symptoms. One lady was stage three and really bad off. She took probiotics and within a year was well. Her doctor couldn t believe it and told her to keep on doing what she was doing. Her lungs were clear. I ve just started on the exact probiotic she recommended. I m taking one day at a time, hoping I can get similar results. I see my doctor every three months for my diabetes, so, she can keep an eye on me. What do you think or recommend about all of this?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You can improve your lung function with deep breathing exercises and avoidance of smoke exposure. I have not come across any study that shows probiotics in the management of COPD. It does improve your gut flora.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
