Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband took a double dose of Carvedilol 12.5 mg by accident. His diastolic is down to 50 and pulse is low. He has vomited and had diarrhea and had a cold sweat. He is still breathing and lucid but very weak of course. What more can I do besides keeping him hydrated and what should I watch for? It has been 4 hrs now.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Carvidelol is not too dangerous. Keep him hydrated. Drink fluids containing electrolytes like Gatorade. Keep monitoring his blood pressure and pulse every 2 hours. If BP and pulse keep going down, follow up with ER.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
