Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello - I am 67 and had Crohn s for some years. Had thought might weak sphincter might be a result of that, but as I am in remission now I am still having a problem. Are there exercises? Medical treatments. More specifically, spontaneous escape of small amounts of feces that I seem to have no control over. Normal bowel movements fine. Thanks for any advice you can provide.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
If the symptoms are mild you can try various exercises and techniques available. If the symptoms are severe and interfere your day to day life it is better top go for surgical procedures. Consult a gastrosurgeon and he will direct you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
