Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM.
I have read and understood your concern.
Lower extremity swelling may not be related to Crohn's disease.I will advise she sees the Doctor for examination.Lower extremities swelling may be of cardiac, renal or hepatic origin.Only a keen physical examination by the Doctor with some tests may help to identify cause of such symptoms. In the meantime, i will advise she tries the following:
-Elevate legs while lying
-Her Doctor may place her on a diuretic like furosemide.
-Reduce salt intake
Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns.
Wish your friend a speedy recovery.
