How Can DVT Be Treated?

I developed in August 2016 a DVT. Since that time I do not have an idea how intensive should I exercise. Prior to the DVT I was capable to burn in an hour 1200+ cal on the elliptical trainer. Nobody can tell me should I work with the same intensity or should be very cautious.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello there I have read through your question and would like to tell you that if you have been diagnosed with DVT you need to be on anticoagulation therapy. The most common anticoagulant used is warfarin. You have not mentioned the cause of your DVT. You should consult your physician about the same. Meanwhile you should take care of a few things. 1. Avoid prolonged sitting in one position. 2. Avoid caffeine and alcohol. 3. Drink lots of fluids and keep yourself hydrated. 4. Consider the use of elastic compression stockings. 5. Do regular moderate exercise. 6. If you feel any breathlessness , chest pain, redness or swelling in any area consult a physician immediately. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
