Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
i was hospitalized for a week and given Intravenously 2mg of dilaudid every 4 hours and 30mg oxycodone immediate as break through with 20mg of Morphine Sulphate every 12 hrs, that was two weeks ago, since being released and it seems as though i cant seem to get the dilaudid out of my system, im drinking about a gallon of water a day but i can clearly smell it in my urine and sweat, its killing me, what can i do to get rid of this problem.
When Dilaudid is taken orally in pill or liquid form, it begins to work quickly, often in about 15 minutes, and usually reaches its peak effect in 30 minutes to an hour.
The elimination half-life of oral Dilaudid is about four hours.
The drug is detected in the blood for about 24 hours,
in the urine for two to three days,
in the saliva for two to three days, and
in the hair for about six months.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
