How Can Fetzima Withdrawal Symptoms Of Headaches, Drowsiness And Nausea Be Treated?

Hi, my GP told me to stop taking Fetzima (80 mg once a day) and to start Buspar (15mg X2 a day). I ve been on Fetzima for many months, but couldn t stand the constant, sever sweating, major irritability and insomnia that came with taking it. So, I did as my GP said, and stopped fetzima cold turkey, and started Buspar the next day. That was 4 days ago. THese past 4 days have been HELL. I ve had every withdrawal symptom of Fetzima, ON TOP of the severe drowsiness of Buspar. I called my local hospital to have my GP paged, but I never heard back from him. I hate feeling like this. I m crying constantly, pounding, severe headaches, nausea, severe brain fog and so very, very tired! I have 2 kids and a husband, and I need to know when will this get BETTER?? Thank you

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

Fetzima is Milnacipran and the drug is a SNRI group of drugs. Abrupt stoppage of use after regular prolonged intake results in withdrawal. You have been taking 80 mg dose and then stopped the drug completely and this is the probable reason that you have developed the withdrawal symptoms. The symptoms like crying spells, severe headache, nausea, brain fog etc are due to withdrawal and in most cases acute severe symptoms usually reduce in about a week. You have been advised to take Buspar and this drug will also help to ease the withdrawal. Take the drug on SOS basis for severe anxiety and as per your prescription. If symptoms persist then visit your doctor for treatment.

Thanks.
