How Can H.Pylori Infection Be Diagnosed?

Yes, thank you. I woke up last Monday feeling bloated and had gained 6 pounds in the last two days. I have gone on a pretty much liquid diet the last three days but nothing has changed. I had h pylori a few years ago and this feels like the same symptoms. How do I know?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Without investigation it is difficult to say what it is.

You may need to confirm this by urea breath test, stool antigen test, endoscopy an biopsy.

I think it may be due to acute gastritis or food intolerance or irritable bowel syndrome etc.

Use tablet Pantoprazole.

If symptoms not improved please consult your gastroenterologist, he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Take care.
