How Can I Get Rid Of A Foul Smell In The Nose And Mouth Post Septoplasty ?
How can I get rid of a foul smell in my nose and mouth after a septoplasty . I had this surgery 2 weeks and 2 days ago. Please help! It s so bad, it makes my boyfriend nauseous, and this smell is ruining my confidence and self esteem.
Your history refers to Halitosis, which is bad breath caused by certain foods, health conditions and habits. You can improve it by maintaining proper oral hygiene, if it is not helping, consult a dentist or your ENT specialist to exclude the cause for bad breath.
In your case it could be due to sinus infections because nasal discharge that drips from your sinuses into the back of your throat (postnasal drip) can cause mouth odor which has to be confirmed by a ENT Specialist.
In the meantime, try these self-care measures:
1. Brush your teeth after every meal.
2. Floss at least once a day and clean your tongue.
3. Drink plenty of water and change your toothbrush every three months.
4. Schedule regular visits to your dentist every six months.
Good Luck.
Take Care.
