How Can I Get Rid Of The Red And Purple Scars Left By Bruises?
I fell on holiday two weeks ago and badly bruised my legs, the bruises are fading but have left some small purple red marks with nasty blisters on them. I came home from holiday with a virus that caused me to become dehydrated this consequently caused my kidneys to go into failure and I ended up in intensive care for a week. I stablised and was put on a ward to recuperate prior to going home and this is when I noticed the blisters. I asked the staff about them and was told not to worry it was because I had been in bed for a week and that they would go but they have burst and become quite painful and some keep filling up again with a yellow liquid that stains a tissue clear when bursting. Do I need antibiotics as the nurses at the hospital seemed to think I was being fussy? Thank you
You may be given a course of an oral antibiotics to prevent secondary infection or else if they are unwilling then it would be okay to at least put antiseptic dressing or topical antibiotic ointment on the raw surface.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
