How Can I Increase Lactation So That I Can Continue Breastfeeding My 3 Months Old Infant?
Hi doc… my son is 3 months old … his birth weight is 2.3 kg.. and now he is 3.8 …. And milk supply is low … today only doctor suggest me lactogen .. Bt I’m not interested in milk powder … Please suggest about the powder and how to increase milk supply .. and I’m taking protein rich food and all Bt still low milk supply …
You can increase milk supply by taking extra liquids such as fruit juices and milk. I suggest breast massage for 10-15 minutes before feeding. Avoiding stress, keeping your baby close to you and attaching your baby in proper position will increase the milk supply.
In my opinion, you should take bath with lukewarm water which will make you relax and also will enhance milk supply. Night time feeding is also very helpful to increase the milk out put. I suggest that continuing breast milk is better for your baby than switching to powder milk.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
