How Can I Lower My SGOT And SGPT Levels?

Hi Doctor, I had chicken pox desease last week. so i had taken acyclovir tablets(valtoval 1mg). after 1 week i test my SGOT and SGPT, now the result is SGPT -92 and SGOT- 32... How can i down these levels.I actually had grade one fatty liver desease earlier as well as gilberts syndrome?

SGOT and SGPT levels in your case are very low and I dont think that treatment is required at this point. YOu should just measure it in 1 month and if this is still too high then some disorders should be considered and these may be indicators of liver damage or injury from different types of diseases or conditions, and collectively they are termed liver tests or liver blood tests. So the next step is to look for certain liver damage and most common casue is fatty liver disease. It should be confirmed by ultrasound. Other causes are viral hepatitis,cirrhosis, medications, alcohol intake or autoimmune diseases. To verify exact cause, US, bilirubin levels and tumor markers should be additionaly done Then appropriate treatment can be started.
