How Can I Prevent HIV Transmission To Baby During Pregnancy?

Hi, I am currently HIV positive and I am 15 weeks pregnant now, I would like to know when should I start taking madication that will prevent my unborn from getting infected by HIV/AIDS. In the first two months I was going for pregnancy check up to the gynacologist, then the medical aid that Im using has a problem now and I couldnt go to the doctor again, but its promising that at the end of this month the medical aid wil be back to normal. Now Im worried about my uborn for getting infectected because we were stil on the process with me and my doctor, and now Im not visiting the doctor. Please help.

Many precaution should be taken to prevent infection. Mide of delivery is one factor. You should go caserean section. and nevirapin syrup first dose should br given to baby at time of birth. and you should akso take nevirapin. After that precaution in breast feeding is also there. Regular check if your baby for hiv test. Dbs sample should be sent for confirmation. consult your gynec and follow these thing according to his advice. Dont worry by this way you can prevent infection.
