Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been on suboxone for nearly a year, I am 36 and I have a ten year old son and a three year old daughter and I have recently started working and finalized a divorce. I have struggled with decreasing my last amount of 2mg each day to every day to one mg. It is now at a time when I have no insurance and need to get off these strips asap as I have very little to work with. Is there a way to do it so that I can function and do it quickly? If not where can I go for help, I fear there isn't an easy way, I just need possible?
I am so sorry to hear about this battle with suboxone and the different difficult events you have had to deal with. This drug is mainly used to treat opiates addiction. How fast you can get off this would be determined by how well you tolerate lesser doses or even not taking the drug at all. Talk with your doctor and let me evaluate and try weaning you off it. If it is possible, he would do it. There is no standard schedule as persons respond differently to this treatment.
I hope this addresses your query fully. Thank you so much for using our services and please feel free to ask for clarifications if need be. I wish you the best of health. Dr. Ditah, MD.
