How Can IBS Be Treated?

The problems I have seem closest to IBS. Some days it seems to affect me more an hour or two after I eat a high fiber breakfast of cereal and fruit. I consider cutting this out but I was told to take in fiber even fiber supplements to curb problems with leakage after a bowel movement

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Some advice that I can give to you is:

- Anticholinergic medications. Medications such as dicyclomine (Bentyl) can help relieve painful bowel spasms
- Eat more fibers
- Try digestive enzymes with meals to help break down food while your gut heals
- Use probiotics
- Drink liquids

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
