How Can PCOS Be Treated?

I suffer from PCOS so i take a 21 pack birth control pills though the usual rule is to wait for 1 week before starting a new pack after finishing one and within the week is where my cycle usually starts. It took me longer to start a new pack which was 15 days. i know it would have messed up my menstrual cycle again. I had unprotected sex and missed 2 pills in my second week. Do i still need to take emergency contraceptive?

Hello there I have read through your question and understand your concern. Normally the rule is that when you miss a dose of oral contraceptives you should take it as soon as you remember and take the usual dose in the normal . Since you have not started the next cycle of oral contraceptives in the scheduled time and also missed two doses , your protection from the pills is not conclusive. Before taking emergency contraception I would advise you to take a Urine pregnancy test and consult your gynaecologist regarding further dosing. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
