My Dad has Still s Disease & suffers from a lot of inflammation. He s used to take NSAIDs but they got to messing with his kidneys so the Nephrologist took him off of the dosage that was helping him. So my question is the Dr. wants him to take Glucosamine but I wanted to see which one of the Glucosamines in best for him. Glucosamine Sulphate, or Glucosamine Hydrochloride, any other type of the Glucosamines? Thank you. Lbrown
Many symptoms are often controlled with anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin or other nonsteroidal drugs (NSAIDs). It has been reported that some patients with Still's disease can frequently have elevations of liver function blood tests as a side effect of aspirin and sometimes other anti-inflammatory medications. Cortisone medications (steroids) such as Prednisone are used to treat more severe features of illness.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Esmeralda Sera, Oncologist
