How Can T4 And TSH Levels Be Interpreted When Previously Diagnosed With Hyperthyroidism?
hello. My 30 year old daughter just had a blood test because she hasnt been feeling herself lately.. Her bloodwork came back with her T4 .09 and her TSH 18. I have been diagnosed 7 yrs ago with Hyperthyroidism caused by Graves disease. Im a little confused with her bloodwork-does this mean shes hypothyroid of hyper thyroid??
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Your TSH value is high. So it is suggestive of hypothyroidism. You were diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in past. So you have to repeat your thyroid profile tests because many non thyroid illness as well can affect TSH values.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
