Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
So I ve had a UTI for almost 3 weeks now, and I have been constipated almost this whole time. I ve completed a weeks worth of antibiotics but my UTI isn t clearing up and I m feeling nauseas everyday. I took a laxative and when I finally get it out, I feel like I could throw up at the same time. Should I go back to the doctor? Or wait it out. I know sometimes constipation can cause a UTI because it is putting constant pressure on the bladder..
dear Thanks for writing to HCM Please be assured first of all that constipation is in no way related to UTI(urinary tract Infection).Apart from the antibiotics for UTI and laxatives for Constipation ,we must take care to add plenty of fluids in diet, water to drink which can solve both our problems.A diet rich in fibres is mandatory, However for more prolonged symptoms and any new problem out of it,you can consult your treating doctor. hope this helps Most welcome for further queres.
