How Can Von Willebrand Disease Be Treated?

I have von Wilabrand bleeding disorder. I thought I had out grown it but had not. I found that out when I some teeth pulled and the bleeding lasted for 9 hours. I had been told that humate or stimate is the coagulant. But I am afraid of the side effects. Can you set me straight. Thanks Ted

Hi,

Von willebrand disease is caused due to deficiency of clotting factor VIII In the body. Stimate is desmopressin which act as a coagulant by increasing the amount of factor VIII in the body, it can be used in patients with type 1 and type 2a disease.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Himani Saroha
