How Can A Bacterial Infection In The Vagina Be Treated?
I went to a clinic and had a full std check all negative. And a vaginal dean and they detected a bacterial infection I was prescribed the gel. My fiancé and I had sex during the five day treatment against dr advice regretfully. Day seven I was still seeing lots of somewhat clumpy discharge and read online it could cause a yeast infection. Wanting it all to be over finally .... I took Monistat . Now I’m having a discharge that’s a lot less but looks like oatmeal. :( I’m thinking I mistreated myself for yeast and it was merely medicine coming out still. And now I Mis medicated ? Can the two vaginal inserts have an adverse effect? Could taking the Monistat have caused a yeast infection ? Or what is it? I took the bacterial infection insert 14-19 .... 21 I took Monistat . And last night while having sex I thought it would be over but saw that oatmeal white looking discharge .... help?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Monistat fights yeast infection so it can not cause the yeast infection. I think that the bacterial infection in you case is not ruled out by the medication that you have used. You should another cycle of antibiotic treatment. You should consult your doctor about this treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
