How Can A Bee Sting On The Inner Thigh Be Treated?
Hi, my partner was stung by a bee on his inner thigh yesterday. Today there was a blister on the sting site and redness directly around it fading to a paler colour about 3 - 4 inch from the initial sting. Have treated it with washing it and applying Voltaren Gel which has an anti inflammatory ingredient. Anything else I can do? Have I done the right thing??
I am sorry for the problems your partners is going through.
The very first thing to do after getting stung by a bee is to check well the area if any part of bee sting is still there. If yes, should remove it.
Apply cold compresses as this will reduce inflammation.
The bee sting causes allergy reaction. I'm afraid voltaren gel won't help at this moment. On contrary, an anti-histaminic cream or hydrocortisone cream can be used. You can find them over the counter.
Keep applying cold compresses for the next 24 hours together with taking oral antihistaminic drug (Benadryl).
If still swollen and blister is there, then, should consult with your physician further. Wish fast recovery.
