How Can A Blister On The Sole Of A Diabetic Patient Be Treated?

Hello, While on a cruise, I did alot of walking and developed a blister on the bottom of my foot just below the big toe. I m diabetic, so am worried that I might not be treating this correctly. I ve kept it clean, washing, etc., and since I got home, I ve soaked my foot in Epsom Salt water. Should I be doing more? What danger signs should I watch for? when to see a Dr.? thank you for your help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
welcome to hcm ...as you are diabetic i advise special care for all wounds ..i suggest that your fasting SUGAR level must be below 140 ..and daily dressing with betadine or some antibiotic ointment ..and oral antibiotics as amoxycillin clavunate combination two times ...antiinflammatory drugs as diclofenic plus serratiopeptidase two times ..as these are prescription drugs please contact your local doctor he will prescribe these ..daily dressing with oral drugs should give results and wound should start decreasing in size and there should be no foul smelling discharge ..but most important thing is proper care of sugar level ...i hope i have answered your query ..if you find my response helpful please vote so .....regards dr varinder joshi
