How Can A Blood Clot On The Bottom Lip Be Treated?
Hello, my 1 year old son just fell and his lip hit the floor he didn't hit it hard cause he only cried literally for a second but it did bleed just a little. Now It looks like he has a blood clot on his bottom lip. It doesn't seem to be hurting him, but will it go away,
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that trauma to the bottom lip post injury can cause condition like Hematoma formation that occurs due to trauma to the blood vessels leading to accumulation of blood into soft tissues..
Other cause can be mucous cyst formation that occurs due to trauma to minor salivary glands..
Consult a Paediatrician or a Paediatric Dentist and get evaluated and in case of Hematoma, it generally resolves gradually on its own but in case if it persists then surgical removal has to be done..
In case if it is mucous cyst as it is since one year, surgical excision of the same is a must..
Hope this information helps.
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
