Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have just had a CTA scan that detected a aneurysm at the left side of the base of my skull and a bulge or mass on the right. This was a follow up to an ER visit where I had a CT scan, an MRI, an MRA and a spinal that didn t show an aneurysm. The referral the the neurologist and the order of the MRA identified the aneurysm, explaining my symptoms and field trip for 14 hours in the ER, etc. I don t think my aneurysm has ruptured. The neurologist mentioned a coiling procedure but hasn t called back with neurosurgeon appointment date yer. What should I expect as next steps? Is this critical? I feel ok during the day but very uncomfortable when i lay down with an awful headache.

How Can A Brain Aneurysm Be Treated?
Hello, A brain aneurysm is a life-threatening condition because it can rupture at any time. So it is better to go for a coiling procedure to prevent future rupture. Consult an intervention radiologist and get evaluated. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
