Hi Dr. I have been getting rash for the past 5 1/2 years, mainly on my hand/finger. Last year I had rash attack almost every month and for this year so far twice. The rash it self is pink/purple and some times scratchy. No other symptoms. Do you think it s a hiv rash? Thanks Hary

How Can A Chronic Rash On The Finger Be Treated?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. According to your narration, it does not seem to be a HIV rash. Rather to be in dilemma, should take HIV test once. Treatment includes OTC available Hydrocortisone cream till consult a skin specialist for the same. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Purva Patel
