How Can A Diagnosis Be Made With The Help Of BUN, WBC And Platelet Levels?
My daughter blood results just came back with a bun level of 5. Her platelets were clumped and her white blood count was 12.7. She has been having problems for over a year and so far no one has been able to provide a diagnosis. What do you think this blood work could mean? I can provide more information regarding her symptoms if needed. Thanks.
Your daughter's total white blood cell count not much raised. The elevation could be due to inflammation or infection problem.
If it is persistently elevated than further workup can be done like in form of ANA estimation, full CBC with peripheral smear examination report etc.
Platelet clump is not a much problem unless she is Symptomatic. In such case, platelet count report should be given manually after checking prepared slide.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
