I am abroad and got bitten by a dog, I have had my 3 previous rabies jabs. After my bite I wasn t straight to the hospital and got the jab on day 0 today on day 3 I got my second and last jab but a lot of the jab has leaked out and it is concerned me weather or not I received enough of the vaccine is it safe to get anouther jab or is the jab still affective if I leaks?
hello there.thanks for your query. When a dog bites you first thing to do is rush to the hospital or wash your wound with running water whichever is appropriate at that moment depending on the wound.U should not cover the wound (if no massive bleed).in the hospital they will give you TT ,depending upon your status and will give you anti rabies vaccine. This vaccine helps to boost your immunity for the virus if by any chance you got it. Also the infection chance depends upon status of the dog if it was street dog or a pet dog as pet dogs have their routine vaccines. You have taken full measure and i dont think leakage have been that much.but still if you are concerned you can visit your hospital and get the opinion of other doctor. thank you
