How Can A Dog Bite Be Treated?

Hi, I was bitten by my own dog whilst playing on my neck. It did leave a couple of puncture wounds and bled for a bit. It has since healed but I have noticed a hard lump under the skin, it doesn t really hurt although can be tender when touched. Any ideas please Chris

Hi Chris,

I am sorry you got bitten by your own dog. It's not advised to get the wound healed too early as it can get infected. Infection explains the hard lump under the skin.

Get examined by your doctor. You need to take prescription antibiotics orally. Meanwhile apply alternating warm and cold compressess locally.

Take oral anti-inflammatory meds like Ibuprofen or ponstan.

Wish fast recovery.
