Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I got a minor bite from a dog that left a teeth mark & bled a bit & scabbed. My hand is itchy & now has tiny bumps near the bite area. Tonight my elbow started itching.. I’m hoping this is from the weather getting colder & dry air & not related to the bite. Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. For all dog bites intradermal rabies vaccine course is must. If the dog is not immunized or stray dog immunoglobulin also should be taken. Antibiotic like amoxicillin or ciprofloxacin should be taken to prevent infection also. Thanks.
