Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
sir , the pet dog of my relative just played with me and its teeth just happen to touch my index fingure. There is no blood. it is small micro lelvel scare. the dog was already given anti rabies injection. Is it necesary to take inti rabies injection. Please suggest me.
If the dog has been vaccinated for rabies, then no additional vaccines or injections are necessary. I would simply wash out the incision with soap and water, and keep your eye on it. If it starts to get red, hot and increasingly painful, then you may need antibiotics, but if it was just a superficial scratch, this is really unlikely.
It sounds you don't need to do much here besides keep a close eye on it and make sure it doesn't get infected.
I hope this answers your questions. Please feel free to contact me should you have any further questions.
