Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hey I ve fractured my ulna about 2 months ago. I got my cast removed since the first month. Any suggestions on how to heal my bones faster? I ve heard that exercise makes the bones heal faster. What part of my body should I exercise? Should I exercise my arm or what? How often should i do this?
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
It would be very useful for me if you post a photo of xray image so that I can see what exact type of fracture was it. However, exercise may be beneficial but it may also prolong recovery if you do it wrong. The most important thing is to exercise with no pain and it should be gradual First, do exercises without weight lifting, just stretch your arms, elbows and wrist. Then add some light weights, like 1-2kg and do biceps and forearm muscles exercises. Also, swimming would be appropriate sport for better bone healing. At the end, bone heals usually for 3-4 months and after that you should be able to do all activites as before.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
