Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I fell March 13 in Jordan. Next day went to hospital. x-rays showed right tibia vertical crack. A light weight cast was put up the the back of my leg to the calf, and also cast material on the bottom of the foot. I continued doing much of the tour using a shoe/boot and cane. I am now back in the states. I returned to a winter rental as planned until April 2nd. My Dr. at home suggested I see an orthopedic Dr. here in AZ rather than wait until I return to WI. What are the dangers of waiting? Medicare supplement insurance may not cover treatment here. Might I have done further damage by walking on it? Might I need surgery?
As advised by the Orthopaedician there. You might be there in the United States for a business reason or maybe some other reason. You Can come back and do your work later. If it is time-bound work then also please leave and go back to the place where you can afford for the surgery and all treatment expenses. Because the injury to hip or knee or ankle these are whole body weight-bearing joints so any injury or dislocations need to be attempted for correction Immediately without a delay. Delaying the repair of these any of the damages leads to pressure Induced further damages.
Coming to Knee Joint your Cartilages and Soft tissues gets damaged further if you don't proceed for correction and continue your daily routine with walking, strain and all. Remember, If you may lose a job for if you travel back now, then please do that. You can come back and join at some other place or do some other thing, But you can't get back your Knee again. So please proceed for operating it as early as possible.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah
