How Can A Friction Blister On The Left Foot Be Treated?
I have a rubbed sore on my left foot, caused by a shoe. I ve had 3- antibiotic ointment on it. Today in the pm I took off my sock and its very w/ very red short line where there is an old scar. I cleaned it, applied fresh ointment, covered w/ sterile gauze. If it s NOT okay, will it wait until morning? I only have Medicare A & B
If it is pink with no yellow areas, no increased warmth or swelling- then it can wait.
If possible you should use normal saline to clean it (if it is pink). It would also be good if it can remain uncovered while you are at home, so that it dry and heal.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James,
General & Family Physician
