Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 85 year old relative , who has Parkinson s, has been in hospital for 9 weeks following a fall at home where he broke his hip. That has been repaired but he has now been diagnosed with gangrene in his left lower leg. He has refused amputation as he has an aneurysm in his left groin which has now turned into a thrombosis so doctors have said that any amputation would have to be as high as possible. Difficult to say without seeing him but what do you consider his life expectancy to be? The gangrene is progressing quickly.
