How Can A Hard Hymen With Excruciating Pain Be Treated?

I am a 30 year old female height 165cm weight 50kg. I got married 4 months ago & me & my husband have had no luck making love. We can't break the hymen he is very gentle & goes slow but I am in excruciating pain! I have tried emla cream & xylocaine it doesn't help. I seen a gynocologist who has referred me to hospital to have my hymen snipped. I'm hoping you can recommend something else as I'm not that keen to have surgery. Thank you

I am sorry that you are having such a problem with the hymen. This is actually not that uncommon. I am happy that you have seen a gynecologist to have this evaluated. The procedure used to treat this problem is called a hymenectomy. It is extremely simple to perform and the results after healing is excellent. The benefit of having this procedure performed, is that you will be able to have intercourse pain free. Just to clarify, the hymen is a thin rim of vaginal skin that is at the opening of the vagina. When the hymen is still present it is referred to as an imperforate hymen. Once this procedure is performed, the vagina should look completely normal. It really is unreasonable to expect that you can cure this on your own. Also you should not put pressure on yourself for your husband to fix this either. I am certain that once this is fixed, you will have a healthy and enjoyable sex life.
