How Can A Hematoma On The Arm Be Treated?

My friend has a huge hematoma on her arm...went to urgent care, sent to ER. They did an ultrasound but found nothing. Outlined it with magic marker. it seems to be less today, or rather I should say has not expanded, but not another seems to be forming next to it (discolored, both pink and purple . I know she is on aspirin. should she stop until she can talk to her doctor on Monday?

Hi,

It depends on the reason she is taking aspirin. If she has had a heart attack or stroke before and the hematoma is not expanding then it's better not to stop Aspirin, but if her hematoma is expanding then she should stop Aspirin.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
