How Can A Hematoma On The Buttock Be Treated?

I have a large hematoma on my buttocks from a fall down the stairs 2 weeks ago. All bruising is gone but the large lump about the size of a baseball maybe a bit smaller is there. When should I become concerned that it is not getting any smaller. Some slight numbness just noticed today on the skin in a small place medial side of the lump.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As per my clinical experience, a small hematoma may resolve with precise antibiotic and anti inflammatory medicines. As per the narration , the size of hematoma is considerable and period of 2 weeks is a bit more to let the conservative therapy work. I doubt that you may require surgical intervention. Immediately consult your PCP for best assistance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
