Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi! I have an external hemorrhoid the size of a pea. How can I get it to go away? It is not thrombosed. I ve been using witch hazel often and keeping clean and dry. I also increased my fiber . Will a prescription of Anusol 2.5% cream be the most effective topically?
1) Apply an over-the-counter hemorrhoid cream or suppository containing hydrocortisone.
2) Use pads containing witch hazel or a numbing agent.
3) Soak regularly in a warm bath or sitz bath.
4) Soak your anal area in plain warm water 10 to 15 minutes two to three times a day.
Hope that clarifies your concerns. Thank you for the query.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
