Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a 16 mm kidney stone in my right kidney. Spent 4 days in the hospital due to the infection it caused from blocking my kidney. I have a stint now to help drain my kidney and am on antibiotics to clear the infection. 6 months ago I had a 7mm stone in my left kidney that did the same thing, I had that one removed at the hospital. The 16mm stone back in Feb was only 6.8 mm but is still in my right kidney. The Dr s want me to have surgery that I can t afford due to no medical insurance. Is there any way to dissolve this thing without surgery?
hi sir/mam,i'm really very sorry to say that kidney stones >10mm usually wont dissolve spontaneously.yours is 16mm and it mostly requires surgical intervention.for pain relief you can go for acetaminophen with hydrocodone combinations like vicodin.also please maintain adequate hydration.any urinary infections are to be treated promptly.thank you.take care.bye.
