How Can A Knee Replacement Surgery Be Successful, When The Pain Still Persists?

I was told recently I needed knee replacement surgery... When my husband had this done he still had a lot of pain that never went away. His doc said the ooperation was totally successful. That bothers me. If you don t get rid of the pain and they say it was successful, why do it? Also I have the same doctor and this really bothers me.

Hello,

Postoperative pain might persist for a long time and can be managed by analgesics. The success of the surgery is evaluated by the range of movements.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
