Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a large cyst on my kidney. Have been to urologist and he says most people have cysts and that I am very healthy, not to worry. But I have severe pain and have even been to er ( they did nothing for me!) just took blood work and told me my blood work was perfect! Urologist did scope of bladder and ordered cat scan which showed cyst. NEED HELP!
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Surgical removal of cyst is needed if it is symptomatic like painful, increasing swelling, worsening abdominal distention etc. So in your case, surgical removal of cyst is definitely needed. But you need to first get done renal scan to identify functions of kidney. If kidney function is normal then no need to worry much. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
