How Can A Lesion In The Spleen Be Treated?

Hi Doctor, My CT scan and also my Endoscopic Ultrasound shows a lesion in my spleen - I believe this is the result of an injury I sustained in 1986. This has never, during the past 31 years, given me any problem and has never impaired my immune system - should this be surgically removed now? Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
Well this is probably postraumatic hemangioma and its treatment depends on size and symptoms. If it is very small it should not be treated especially if smaller than 10cm. Other findings and symptoms if occursuch as pain or weight loss may necessiate surgical removal which can be done laparoscipically.

I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time.
Kindly regards. Wish you a good health.
