My 10 year old son was wrestling with some boys at his friend s house. He fell against the edge of the couch(hard part) and has a bump behind his ear about the size of a nickel. He has not been nauseous but says his ear hurts and it is sore to the touch. What should a do?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
Hello,
Please see that there should not be repeated vomiting or loss of consciousness or vertigo after head injury. What your child got is soft tissue injury. He needs antibiotic as amoxicillin and painkiller as aceclofenac for a period of five days. As these are prescription drugs, please contact your local doctor he will prescribe these.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Varinder Joshi
