How Can A Painful Hematoma On The Eyebrow Be Treated?

My 8 years old son fell while while playing with his friend. He hit face on the floor. Broke his glasses which cut him on his eyebrow. Along with a massive hematoma and pain.I ve iced it and given him Tylenol for the pain. Its bruised and still slightly bleeding.Should I keep him home and just keep an eye on it? Or should I seek medical attention?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for your query.

Please take him to the hospital right away. As it is still bleeding and has a hematoma, the bleeding needs to be stopped and the hematoma needs to be drained to promote healing.
Keep icing it. Continue tylenol for the pain.

Take him to the ER. He may need cleaning up of the wound & checking it for any broken glass pieces or debris. Stitches may be necessary.

Hope this helps.
Please let the know if there is anything else I can help you with. Wish you good health
