How Can A Painful Lump On The Right Thigh Be Treated?

A week ago i ran straight into a sharp corner of a counter, head on full force, it hurt so bad almost took my breath away. Right at the top of my right thigh. Now there us a substantial lump, about 2" its tenser and bruised. Is this cause for concern or will it go away in time since i figure its just a bad bruising.
Any input appreciated.

Hello,my name is dr,Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern.
Some advices that I can give to you are:
-Avoid irritation and prevent infection.
-Do not squeeze, scratch, or pick at the lump. Do not stick a needle in it.
-Leave the lump exposed to the air whenever possible.
-Adjust your clothing to avoid rubbing the lump.
-Apply warm, wet cloths to the painful lump for 20 to 30 minutes, 3 or 4 times a day.
